Fancy, Four Fold Card made with the Mountain Air Stamp Set

Hello Friends,

I hope everyone is having a great week.  Today is my great granddaughter’s first birthday and I got to spend most of the day with her.  She is getting too big, too fast!  She is sweet, loving, and fun to be around!  I’m so lucky to have 3 great grandchildren now!

After Everyone went home, I finished this card I started yesterday. Four-fold Card with Mountain Air

I just love making fancy-fold cards. This is the first four-fold card I’ve made and it was so easy.  It took me longer to decide which stamp set to use than it did to make the card!  I decided to use the Mountain Air Stamp Set and I love the way it turned out. If you’d like to see a tutorial, let me know and I’ll post it here on my blog.

Fancy, Four Fold Card made with the Mountain Air Stamp SetI just love the Mountain Air Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!  It is so versatile and even has matching dies.  When you purchase the stamp set and the Majestic Mountain Dies as a bundle, you save 10% on your purchase!

The mountains were stamped on a Whisper White Card Stock panel with the new Misty Moonlight Ink.  The trees were stamped with the Just Jade Ink.  Some of the trees were stamped directly onto the cardstock panel, while some were stamped on another piece of Whisper White and die-cut with the matching die.  The card base was made using Balmy Blue Cardstock with Misty Moonlight panels.  Both the greeting and the message were cut out with the Stitched Nested Label Dies.

Coming Home and Trimming the Town with Stampin’ Up!

Coming Home Handmade Christmas Card

Hello Friends,

Have you seen the new Stampin’ Up! 2020 Holiday Catalog yet?  It is amazing! I want nearly everything in it! (Click on the catalog image in the right-hand column to view it.) I made this card with one of the darling new suites-The Trimming the Town Suite on page 25 and I think it is one of the all-time favorite cards.

Coming Home Handmade Christmas CardThe Trimming the Town Suite captures the feel of a hometown holiday with its whimsical imagery and coordinating trimmings. The Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper is full of cozy village and winter scenes.  Some of the images can be cut out with the Home Together Dies, as well as images in the Coming Home Stamp Set.

This card was so fast and easy to make.  I used part of one of the designer papers for the background and die-cut some of the images from another sheet of paper. The Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper package contains 12 sheets of 12″ x  12″ double-sided paper (2 each of 6 different designs.)

Each year, Stampin’ Up! donates some of the sales from certain products to charities.  This year, whether you purchase the Coming Home Stamp Set individually or as part of a bundle or suite collection, $3 from the sale will be donated to charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility. Not only will you have fun using it, you will be making a difference!

Coming Home Handmade Christmas CardProject Recipe:

  1. Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to 5-1/2″ by 8-1/2″, score in the middle, and fold for the card base.

  2. Adhere a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Misty Moonlight Cardstock to the card base.

  3. Cut the piece of Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper at the top to 3-3/4″ x 5″ so the mountains are showing as you can see above.  This is the sheet of paper I used:

  4. Stamp your greeting at the top of the Trimming the Town DSP panel in Misty Moonlight Ink. (I used a greeting from the retire Six Sayings Stamp Set, but you could use any of your favorite Holiday greetings.)  Adhere this piece to the card front.

  5. Die-cut a Misty Moonlight large house and a large green tree from the piece of Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper with the matching Home Together Dies. Cut out the smaller tree with Paper Snips. Adhere these to the card front over the existing printed images on the paper with Stampin’ Diminsionals.  Here is the paper I used for this step:Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper

  6. Add several Snowflake Adhesive-Backed Embellishments to the card front.

Here are the products I used to make this card.  Click on the image to find more information about it and/or to purchase it.

I’m Back!

Hello Friends!
I’m back to blogging after about a year.  I had so many things going on in my life that I had to choose to eliminate some of them for a while. Running a Stampin’ Up! business was on of them. After almost 10 years of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I had to stop being active until I was able to eliminate some of my other more important things.
First, I decided to move back into my house that my son and his family had been living in for over 5 years.  I wanted to remodel it before I moved all my things back into it. We tore out walls, carpet, tile, etc. so I could design it like I wanted. After about 4 months of remodeling, enough was finished that I went ahead and moved back in it.
In the meantime, my first great grandson was born and I began watching him when his mother had to return to work. Last August, my first great granddaughter was born and I began watching her, too. Just as their parents didn’t need me anymore, my second great grandson was born! I’ve been watching him since he was 2 months old, but my grandson usually picks him up around noon.
I was just getting things ready to begin teaching classes again when we began to hear about Covid 19 and everything shut down. I know a lot of people are now out and about, but I’m trying not to take any chances because of my three little ones.
After about a year, I’m back to blogging.  I had so much going on in my life that i just couldn’t keep up with everything and had to make choices on which things to leave out until things calmed down.
Eventually, I’m going to try to get some online classes, tutorials, and videos going here on my new blog. For a long time I didn’t have any time at all for even making cards, working on my scrapbooks, or any other crafts. My life has slowed down a little now and I’m going to try again now. Lately, I’ve been getting caught up on all of the Paper Pumpkin kits I didn’t have time to do before. Some of them I made as the kits were meant to be, but most of the time I’ve been making a lot of alternative cards with the contents of the kits.
Here are just some of the cards I’ve made.
