Can you believe that January is a little more than half-over already? Where does the time go? I hope that the first month of the new year has been good to you. Last year in January, I was in an auto accident and ended up with bruised ribs and a broken right arm and wasn’t able to do much of anything for about 3 months. This year, my sister fell and broke her hip right after Christmas. She lives by herself, so I’ve been at her house taking care of her. I don’t mind because it gives me a lot of time to spend with her. I haven’t been able to teach any classes yet, but will be back to teaching this Friday and Monday!
Here is one of the cards I made when I received my first Stampin’ Up! Order out of the new 2016 Occasions Catalog. I love stamps you can use for scenery and the In the Meadow set is a great one! The stamps can be used together to create beautiful stamped creations or they can be used with stamps from other sets, as well. I only used 5 of the 8 stamps in the set to make this card. All of the images were stamped on one panel of Whisper White Card Stock, except for the greeting. I used Smoky Slate Ink and a Blender Pen to color in the mountains and Baked Brown Sugar Ink for the deer. Next, I sponged the sky with Soft Sky Ink and tied a piece of Linen Thread around it before adhering it to a Pear Pizzazz Card Stock card base. You can’t see it in the photo, but the darkest parts of the mountains glisten because I used my new Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush on them! (I love these new glitter pens. They come in clear and gold and add a sparkly touch of shine to your projects without the mess!) And what about that greeting? Don’t you just love it? Besides more cards, one of my next projects with the In the Meadow Stamp Set is going to be to make a canvas picture with this these stamps for my daughter’s wall…She loves deer!
This month’s Hostess code is HWMYAWNS. Make sure you use it when placing your online orders of $150 or less (before taxes and shipping) and your name will be entered into the monthly drawing for Stampin’ Up! products. (Don’t use the hostess code if your order is $150 or more before taxes and shipping so you can earn the Hostess Rewards.) Your name will still be entered into the drawing. Your order must be placed through my online store or me in order to be eligible to win. Last month’s winner received the Petite Petals Punch!
