That Christmas has its special gifts,
But our year-round joy depends
On the cherished people in our lives,
Our family and our friends.

The other day I was in a craft store when I overheard a lady complaining to her friend that she couldn’t believe this particular store had started selling Christmas items at the beginning of October. I wanted to ask her if you knew were she was shopping. Duh! Do you think crafters begin making their Christmas decorations, cards, gifts, etc. the week before Christmas? Of course, they don’t! And it WAS a craft store! Thanks, just thought I’d get that off my chest. Anyway, I start looking forward to Christmas in July and don’t stop until it’s over.
So, today I’m sharing another aperture card we made in my Monday class and yes, it is a Christmas card! We will be making them all month. I’m sorry about the quality of the photo. The card is so bright and shiny, but I just couldn’t get it to come out as pretty as it really is in real life.
The card base was made out of Whisper White Card Stock and the first layer is one of the designs from the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. The aperture (opening) in this card was cut out with one of the Deco Label Framelits Dies.
The beautiful ornament was made using one of the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies and a Red Foil Sheet. I cut out two of them, placed a piece of Gold Metallic Thread between them, and glued them both together so the ornament will spin when the card is standing open. The other end of the thread is attached to the card under the gold bow with a Glue Dot. The greeting was cut out of the Red Foil with one of the dies from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies.
Have I told you how much I love the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog? I think I bought almost everything in it!
