Hope you all have had a fantastic start to your weekend! In yesterday ‘s post, I invited you back today for more cards with the Happy Scenes Stamp Set and the Hearth and Home Thinlits. However, that’s not what you’re going to get today.
I saw a card on Pinterest that I just had to make! Another demonstrator, Nance Leady pinned a card she had made and I fell in love with it. You can see her card here.
I love the beach. I love the beach even more when there are quaint little houses and/or small shops in pastel colors on or near it! I did not copy Nancy’s card, but I loved the idea of using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies for my beach scene. I cut the edgelits out of Watercolor Paper 2 times. I kept one of the die-cuts as it was and used my Aqua Painter to paint the “beach sand” and the tiny buildings. I cut 2 more strips of Watercolor Paper to use for the second sand hill and the water. I painted those 2 pieces, as well. On the other die-cut, I trimmed the buildings off because I didn’t want the second row of buildings to be in exactly the same spots as on the first one. I turned over some of them and painted them.
All of the pieces are glued to the large piece of watercolor paper I used for the sun and sky. It was water colored in Soft Sky. I added the sun from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set and drew the “flying birds” with a pen. The photo does not do the card justice-It’s so much prettier in real-life. I want to live here!
