I hope each and everyone of you are doing well and staying healthy.
Ever since I was in 6th grade with Mr. Cox, I have loved Geography. Over the years, I’ve collected several vintage maps. When I first saw the World Map Background Stamp, I just had to purchase it! I like using background stamps quite a bit, but this one is my all-time favorite.
I’m entering this card in The Paper Players Challenge this week. The challenge is to make a masculine card. The World Map Stamp and the images from the Traveler Stamp Set can be combined to make fabulous cards for men (or for women). I used the Embossing Resist Technique to make the card front. The map image was stamped on Whisper White Card Stock in VersaMark and then embossed with Black Embossing Powder. I sponged Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, and Crumb Cake Inks over the stamped image and then used a tissue to wipe off any ink that was covering the embossing. A piece of Burlap Ribbon was wrapped around this panel and it was adhered to an Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz card base.
The ship was stamped in Black StazOn Ink on another piece of Whisper White Card Stock. It was cut out with one of the dies from the Window Frames Collection. The “ocean” was watercolored using Marina Mist and Pool Party Inks. The paint splashes are from one of the images in the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. I added 3 Candy Dots to the right side of the Burlap Ribbon to complete the card.
Have a wonderful day! Terry
