Today I want to share a card I made with one of my favorite new stamps from the new 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I love background stamps and the new World Map Stamp is awesome! However, it does not have to be used just for backgrounds. It can be used in other ways, as well, and I’m going to show you one of them.
For the background of this card, I used a piece of Pool Party Core’dinations Card Stock that was first stamped with one of the images from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. (Did you know you can get the core’dinations card stock in almost any of our .colors now?) This layer was then adhered to the card front, which was made with Crumb Cake Card Stock.
Next, I sponged some Crumb Cake Ink over the top of a Tea Lace Paper Doily that was cut in half and attached to the card front with some SNAIL Adhesive. A strip of 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon was stamped with lines image from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Pool Party Ink and was adhered to the right of the card front with more SNAIL. Next to it are two strips of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper. All of the strips were flagged at the bottom ends.
The World Map Stamp image was stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock in Crumb Cake Ink. I tore around the edges to make it into a rough circle shape. It was sponged all over with more Crumb Cake Ink and glued to the card front so that only a little bit of the doily was showing. The greeting was stamped on a scrap of Crumb Cake, the end was flagged and it was attached over the torn circle.
Next, I cut a strip of 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon in half and frayed the right side of it. It was adhered to the right side of the circle. I added three of the small brads from the Vintage Trinkets Embellishments to the ribbon. A Daffodil Delight Button was threaded with some twine and it was placed on the card with Glue Dots.
I hope you like this card as much as I do! Please let me know what you think. We will be making this card in one of my classes this month.
