The Language of Friendship and Comfort Cafe

Hello Friends,

Today I have another sneak peak of some of the new designer series paper from the Stampin’ Up 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog.  The card base of this card is made Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper Card by Classy Cut-ups Creationsof Whisper White Card Stock (100730), but the layer on top of it is a panel of one of the papers from the  new Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper Pack*–a pack of 12 new gorgeous designs (126898)!  Look for my designer paper and ribbon shares coming in a couple of days…This is a great way to get usable samples of all the new papers and ribbons without having to buy a whole pack of designer paper or a whole roll of the new ribbons!

On to the card.  I sponged the edges of the designer paper panel with one of the new ink colors, Midnight Muse* (126860), ran it through the Big Shot (113439) with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (121809), and then sanded over the embossing with my Sanding Block (124304).  I adhered it to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755).  I stamped the bird image from the Language of Friendship Stamp Set (wood-122750; clear-122752) in Chocolate Chip Ink (126979) onto a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock (120953) and then punched it out with the Bird Builder Punch (117191).  I punched the branch and leaves out of the new Gumball Green Card Stock* (126840) with the Bird Builder Punch, as well.  I sponged around the edges of the bird and its wing with more Chocolate Chip, tied a piece of Island Indigo Baker’s Twine (125575) Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper Card from Classy Cut-ups Creationsaround its neck, and added a small, Basic Rhinestone (119246) for its eye.  I used one of the dies from the Labels Collection Framelits Set (125598) and cut 2 labels of the same size – one in Pool Party Card Stock (122924) and one in Whisper White.  I cut the Pool Party label in half and adhered both halves to the back of the Whisper White label, making sure to leave a small border showing.  It was then adhered to the card front.  The branch and leaves where adhered to the Whisper White label with Multipurpose Glue and the bird was added on top of it with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).  Next, I punched out 3 Pool Party flowers with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack* (118309), drew a dot in each one with my Daffodil Delight Marker, adhered them to the card front with Glue Dots (103683), and covered them with Crystal Effects (101055) after curling the edges up a little.  The Crystal Effects makes them shiny and hardens them so they don’t flatten out in the envelope. Last, I stamped one of the images from the new Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set* (wood-126255; clear-126257) in Midnight Muse Ink, cut it out with one of the new Bitty Banners Framelits Dies Set* (129267), and popped it on the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I have got to say I sure am glad I’m a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator because with all the NEW Stamp Sets, designer series papers, ribbons, and accessories in the new catalog I want, I’m going to need that discount!!!

Hope you like today’s card.  You will be able to purchase all the new items on June 1st, but you can purchase the other items now by clicking on my “Order Stampin’ Up! Online” button in the right column!    (* Items in the new catalog available on June 1, 2012.)
